This is a floor plant.
About This palm originates in the rainforests of Central America. It grows in a clumping habit. It is has delicate, thick fronds that dance and play in the slightest breeze. It recalls 1970’s interiors yet is at home in any setting that needs something tropical.
Care: Easy
Light Low light to bright indirect light.
Water Palms prefer their soil kept relatively moist. Water until H20 runs through drainage holes at the bottom making sure all potting mix has been watered. Drain any excess water to make sure roots are not sitting in a tray of water as this will lead to root rot. Allow approximately half the potting mix to dry out before watering again. The timing on this depends upon your environment but a good rule of thumb is about 5-7 days between watering.
Humidity Palms should be fine with Sydney humidity but if you’re using air-con/heating that dries out your air, palms can benefit from a twice weekly spritz or a pebble tray.
Food To keep plants at their best the potting mix needs to be replenished with nutrients. A half strength water soluble general houseplant fertilizer once a month in spring and summer will keep it happy, healthy and well fed.
Plant is delivered in black plastic grow pot.
