About: The grand dame of houseplants. Deep, classic, timeless green leaves that recall the shape of a heart dissected by light yellow veins make the Ficus lyrata an incredibly lush and foliage-full houseplant. Its growth habit starts as a full bush and as a it gets larger it becomes more of a tree which are our favourites. Check our Statement Plant collection and your roof height for one of our amazing, huge statement trees. Otherwise all our fiddles are just fantastic and beautiful indoor plants
Care: Moderate
Light: Bright indirect light. Near a window where the plant can see plenty of blue sky is best. Direct sun will damage the leaves but can tolerate some light morning rays.
Water: Fiddle leaf figs can be a little bit thirstier than other plants. Watering so all potting mix is wetted (until water flows from the drainage holes) is advised on a duration of every 5-7 days is best.
Humidity: If your air is dry due to air conditioning a mist of water with a spray bottle is recommend. Further, dust can settle on the leaves of the fiddle leaf and interfere with photosynthesis, so wiping down the plant’s leaves sporadically is recommended and will be appreciated by the dusty plant. Using a neem oil dilution in this process will give the added benefit of a shiny leaf and increased protection from bugs.
Food: To keep plants at their best the potting mix needs to be replenished with nutrients. A good water soluble houseplant fertiliser in your watering can once a month in the spring and summertime should be enough.
Plant is delivered in black plastic grow pot.
