About The Philodendron martianum or fat boy is a member of the aroid family (relative of the monstera). Originating in the jungles of Brasil, the fat boi is a rather flamboyant indoor plants. Wonderful thick stems open up to spear tip shaped wonderfully green leaves. An easy care, gorgeously lesser seen houseplant. 

Care Easy

Light While Philodendron martianum can tolerate lower light levels, it prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant leaf color and promote healthy growth.

Water Philodendron martianum requires consistently moist soil but should not be left sitting in water. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings to prevent overwatering and root rot. In general, watering once a week during the growing season and every two weeks in winter should suffice.

Humidity If you are using air conditioning or heating in your space misting the plant once or twice a week to supplement humidity is recommended. Otherwise natural levels of Sydney humidity should be fine.

Food Water soluble fertilizer once a week in spring summer is recommended and adding granular fertilizer once every 14 months will keep your plant well fed and healthy.
