Ponytail Palm (Beaucarnea recurvata) in Vintage Conical Pot with Original Patina

Sale price$1,760.00

Yeah its a big old beauty. Heavy so if you have stairs let me know.

Height: 2.1m
Pot Diameter: 600mm

Native to the semi-arid regions of eastern Mexico, where summers bring occasional heavy rain and the rest of the year is hot and dry.

With plant care, we are trying as best we can to emulate the plant’s natural environment in our homes.

Bright Light Indoors. This tree loves light, so place it in your brightest spot, ideally near a sunny window where it can enjoy some direct sun. Too little light will cause slow growth and a leaning, stretched habit.

From spring to early autumn, when the plant is actively growing, water thoroughly and then allow the soil to dry out almost completely before watering again. This emulates the infrequent but heavy rains of its native Mexico. In the cooler months, growth slows, so pull back watering right down and keep the soil mostly dry. The swollen base of the trunk stores water, which makes the Ponytail Palm very drought tolerant and far more forgiving of a missed watering than of too much water. Always ensure the soil never sits wet, as overwatering can cause the base to rot.

Ponytail Palms prefer stable conditions. Keep yours away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents, and try not to move it around too much. Some browning at the tips of the long, trailing leaves is natural and can be trimmed off with clean scissors. Rotate the pot every so often for even growth.
