Australian mid century conical pot on tripod stand with original patina planted with Australian native tree, Brachychiton rupestris The Patina of these pots not only betray the years of hardwearing quality they have endured, and will continue to do so, they also tell a narrative. The most recent narrative of this pot is we found it in Melbourne, drove it to Sydney, admired it, found the right tree for it, photographed it and now I am here writing about it. A future, and current, heirloom with a continuing narrative (alongside you?). Plus, the Brachychiton's caudex' spread above the wide, conical pot looks unreal. 

Light:

A bright room with indirect light is best. Near a window. This tree was grown in full sun, but since planted, it has been in a shade house to acclimatise it to indoor conditions. 

Water:

A good soak and then letting the pot largely dry out is what you want. A wooden chopstick from your local sushi joint is probably the best way to work out how long this takes. After watering, wait about a week, insert the chopstick, feel a bit of the soil - if its wet, wait until it feels dry to water. This process should take about 7-14 days for the soil to dry, but every indoor environment is different so figuring out how your environment affects your plant with some simple tests and awareness will go along way to turning your thumb green. 

Misting leaves regularly to clean slender leaves of dust will lead to a plant that can better photosynthesise and a less dusty is probably better all round. 

Fertilizer:

Once at the start of Spring with some granular fertilizer is enough. Use native fertilizer. Maybe twice in the growing season. Max. Like two small handfuls a year,
