Queensland Bottle Trees Plaited in Stunning Vintage Australian Conical Planter with Stand, circa 1960s

Sale price$4,180.00

These are my favourite pots. Finding one for me is like striking gold. They’re reminiscent of Willy Guhl but the slight incline of the stand, the perfectly proportioned conical shape, the heavy concrete and the beautiful worn patina put them in a league of their own.

I had to pull an amazing plant from the personal collection to honour the beauty of this credit to Australian mid century design, and there was nothing more suiting than these Australian native QLD Bottle trees, plaited together to form a simply amazing plant sculpture

Height: 2.1m

Pot Diameter: 600mm

Native to Central QLD. Wet and Dry Seasons.

With plant care, we are trying as best we can to emulate the plant's natural environment in our homes.

Medium to Bright Indirect Light Indoors.

From October to March, water thoroughly and then allow the top 10cm of soil to dry out, emulating the wetter conditions of a QLD summer and the season in which the tree is growing and active. In the cooler, drier months, pull back watering to allow the rootball to totally dry out as the tree goes semi dormant. During this dry season, the tree naturally will lose some of its leaves and slow its growth. Interestingly, it is one of the few native plants to exhibit a semi deciduous nature.

Price includes delivery.
